This update adds permanent Soul bonuses, a new mana-stacking ring and a key to the Forgotten Gate. It also brings crafting scrolls, clearer loot effects, a refreshed inventory and improvements to Tower progression, combat and performance.
Souls
The inventory's Power tab is now Souls. Open it to see your character's main soul, the souls you have absorbed and a breakdown of their permanent bonuses.
- Enemies can drop souls from Tower Floor 50, in stacks of 10–40.
- Collect souls with your character. Pets cannot pick them up.
- Each type stacks together in Materials, with no practical stack limit. Right-click to absorb the entire stack and gain the bonus for every soul consumed.
- Soul types cycle through all seven varieties to keep long farming sessions more evenly balanced.
- All seven types have distinct icons and colors, both on the ground and in your inventory.
Each absorbed soul grants:
- Vitality: +3 Maximum Health.
- Moonwell: +5 Maximum Mana.
- Aegis: +3 Energy Shield.
- Wrath: +0.05% increased Damage.
- Bastion: +0.05% increased Armor.
- Whisper: +0.05% increased Evasion.
- Celerity: +0.01% Attack Speed.
Mysterious Keys and Forgotten Gate
Mysterious Keys open the Forgotten Gate, a demonic portal leading to Sevarog's arena.
- Keys drop exclusively from Tower bosses: 10% on Floors 95–100 and 5% on Floor 101 and above.
- If you have never completed Floor 99, the first boss you defeat there guarantees one key. This reward is granted only once; additional bosses use the normal drop chance.
- Keys stack up to 99 per slot. Different key types use separate stacks.
- Right-click a key to open Forgotten Gate and place one key in its seal automatically.
- Enter Arena consumes the inserted key. Cancel returns it; closing the window leaves it ready for your next visit.
- Inserted keys stay protected from sorting, storage transfers and disposal until you cancel. Older compatible keys are combined into stacks when your character loads.
- Arena selection starts at Floor 100. Available floors depend on the key type and your unlocked Tower progress. The selected floor determines the encounter's Health and Damage scaling.
- Forgotten Gate encounters do not count as Tower floor clears or unlock further Tower floors.
- The gateway features animated flames, a looming guardian, a jeweled key seal and clearer floor-selection controls.
- Entering through a Mysterious Key displays a centered Start Bossfight prompt. Press F to confirm and dismiss it.
Unique Equipment
Four mana-focused Unique items offer new ways to combine damage, Mana and survivability. The damage effects on Moonwell Grasp and Moonwell Signet use Maximum Mana, so spending Mana does not reduce the damage they grant.
Aetherguard Vestment
- 50% of incoming Damage is taken from Mana before Health.
- Grants 15 base Mana per character level, alongside its rolled equipment bonuses.
Heart of the Moonwell
- Grants 0.05% increased Maximum Mana per point of Intelligence.
- Grants 15 base Mana per character level.
Moonwell Grasp
- Grants 2.5% more total Damage per 1,000 Maximum Mana. At 10,000 Maximum Mana, this provides 25% more Damage.
- Adds 15 base Mana per character level, with Armor, Mana, Mana Regeneration and Intelligence bonuses.
- Its Mana-based damage contributes to Character Power and item comparisons.
Moonwell Signet
- Adds 0.5% of Maximum Mana as base Damage.
- Grants 15 base Mana per character level. Wearing two copies stacks both rings' effects.
- Rolls flat Maximum Mana in both its primary and secondary bonuses, plus increased Maximum Mana, flat and increased Mana Regeneration, and Intelligence Bonus.
- In the standard Unique loot pool, Moonwell Signet is three times rarer than each other released Unique. Ordinary arena bosses use the separate chances listed below.
Unique Item Improvements
- Mana Uniques can drop from the standard equipment pool and support Scroll of Luck and Scroll of Ascendance.
- Equipped item tooltips now show Unique effects and Mana-per-level bonuses correctly. Hold Alt to view the level-based breakdown.
- Older Moonwell Signets continue to work with Luck and Ascendance crafting.
- New matching artwork, gold effects and clearer stat colors make Unique items easier to recognize in your bag, on your character and at the Blacksmith.
Loot and Drop Rates
Rare Equipment
- Unique equipment drops twice as often from ordinary enemies, Treasure Goblins and Colossal chests compared with its previous rate.
- Mythic equipment's base drop chance has doubled, and newly generated or rerolled Mythic stat values are twice as strong.
- Above Tower Floor 100, equipment that would roll Common rarity becomes Uncommon instead.
- Treasure Goblins and Colossal chests grant +150% Item Rarity for their equipment rewards.
- Reduced equipment drops from ordinary monsters, including a further 10% reduction.
For standard equipment drops, +100% Item Rarity doubles your Unique and Mythic chances. Higher bonuses gradually approach three times the base chance. Separate saved bad-luck protection helps after long dry streaks; finding a Unique or Mythic resets only that rarity's streak. Rarity and bad-luck protection together can reach six times the base chance, without guaranteeing a drop after a fixed number of kills.
Ordinary Arena Bosses
These chances apply once per defeated ordinary arena boss, with Moonwell Signet counted separately from the regular Unique group:
- Regular Unique group, excluding Moonwell Signet: 1 in 250, or 0.4%.
- Moonwell Signet: 1 in 1,000, or 0.1%.
- Mythic equipment: 1 in 300, or approximately 0.333%.
Each boss can award at most one item from these three rare-drop groups. Boss drops receive a smaller benefit from Item Rarity: +100% Item Rarity raises these chances by 10%, with a maximum 25% relative increase. Extra equipment quantity does not add more rare-equipment rolls. Floor requirements and item unlocks still apply.
Upgrade Materials
Obsidian Shard and Embercore now drop in larger stacks from ordinary enemies and bosses as you climb:
- Below Floor 30: 1 per eligible drop.
- Floors 30–59: 1–2.
- Floors 60–89: 1–3.
- Floors 90–119: 2–4.
- Floor 120 and above: 2–5.
Collecting a stack adds its full quantity to Materials. Blacksmith material tooltips also explain where each material drops and the first Tower floor where it becomes available.
Crafting and the Blacksmith
Four crafting scrolls stack in Materials. Right-click a scroll, then left-click an eligible item to use it. A scroll icon beside your cursor shows the selected craft; press Escape or right-click to cancel.
- Scroll of Luck: rerolls the values of existing stats. Values can improve or decrease.
- Scroll of Reforging: replaces secondary bonuses with a compatible new set, preserving the primary stat and the number of secondary bonuses. It now drops three times as often from ordinary enemies and bosses.
- Scroll of Origin: changes the primary stat to another compatible type and rolls its value.
- Scroll of Ascendance: raises an unequipped item's Item Level to your highest conquered Tower floor, including Unique equipment. It keeps the item's bonus types and roll quality while scaling their values.
Scroll of Origin drops twice as often as Scroll of Luck. Scroll of Ascendance is ten times rarer than Scroll of Luck.
Ascendance removes all upgrades and enchanting. An item already at or above the target Item Level consumes no scroll. Invalid or locked crafting targets also consume no scroll.
- Crafting scrolls received clearer artwork and color-coded instructions, and successful crafts immediately refresh the hovered tooltip.
- Unique equipment accepts Luck and Ascendance. Mythic equipment supports all four scrolls.
- Item stat growth and Enchanting now continue beyond Item Level 500.
- Mythic upgrades require 5 of each material, except Crimson Singularity at +15, which requires 3.
- Every Blacksmith inventory tab now has a Sort button, including after salvaging items.
- Right-click equipped gear at the Blacksmith to send it to Upgrading or Enchanting. Right-click again to return it to its equipment slot, or to your inventory if that slot is occupied.
Skill Tree and Tower Progression
Attribute Choices and Refunds
- Characters now earn 3 attribute points per level, previously 5. Characters exceeding the new point budget receive a free attribute reset.
- Travel nodes offering +5 or +10 attributes now let you choose Strength, Dexterity or Intelligence. A one-time free full Skill Tree reset accompanies this change.
- The attribute selector is a compact three-row bubble showing only the stat icon, name and bonus. Press Escape to close it.
- Skill refunds cost character level × 30 Gold per point: 3,000 Gold per point at level 100. Refund All uses the same rate.
- Plan refunds and spend those points elsewhere before committing. Apply, then Confirm saves the complete plan and pays the refund cost. Closing the tree discards the plan without spending Gold.
Passive Changes
- Epoch Font: now grants 35% increased Skill Duration, replacing its flat-duration and 22.5% duration bonuses.
- Eternal Hour: now grants 50% increased Skill Duration without a flat-duration bonus. Its penalty is reduced from 30% to 20% less Cooldown Reduction.
- The larger Base Mana passive now grants +125 Maximum Mana, previously +50.
- The smaller Base Mana passive now grants +55 Maximum Mana, previously +35.
- Both minor Bow Damage passives now add +5 base Damage while a Bow is equipped.
- Longshot Accord adds +25 base Damage while a Bow is equipped.
- Oath of the Blade adds +30 base Damage while a Sword is equipped.
- These weapon passives grant their new flat bonuses alongside their existing more-Damage bonuses.
Tower Tree
- Tower Tree sections unlock at Floors 10, 50 and 100, then every 50 floors.
- Ascendant Fortune now has 25 ranks, each costing one Tower Point and granting +8% Item Rarity, for a maximum +200%.
- Existing invested ranks keep their spent points and follow the new bonus per rank.
- The floor selector remembers your last visited floor after returning to town, dying or restarting, while respecting your unlocked progress.
Combat and Arena Encounters
- After a hit removes Health, Energy Shield or Mana, your character receives 0.2 seconds of protection from further damage. Prevented hits do not extend this window.
- Boss Damage now also affects Elites and contributes to Character Power, item comparisons and sorting by Power.
- Tower bosses now have 250 times base Health, previously 80 times.
- Enemy Health grows by 20% per floor after Floor 50, previously 15%.
- Enemy Damage growth has been retuned, with 1.37% growth per floor after Floor 200.
- Dexterity now grants 0.03% Attack Speed per point, previously 0.08%.
- Astral Dominion costs an additional 0.75 Mana per second for each character level after Level 1.
- Equipment stat curves and Critical Chance rolls have been rebalanced for newly dropped or newly rerolled items.
- Newly generated Epic equipment now has 4 secondary bonuses, previously 5.
- Colossal chest guardians move 30% faster. Opened chests disappear after 5 seconds, leaving their loot behind and allowing later encounters to appear.
- Only one unclaimed ordinary shrine can wait in an arena; Cursed Shrines are limited to one per floor.
- Cursed enemies deal 50% more Damage and attack and move 30% faster. Cursed Shrines no longer grant an extra equipment-drop bonus; their descriptions explain the challenge before you accept it.
Boss Health Bar
- Added an ornate dragon frame with a crimson Health bar, a larger nameplate and readable current Health and percentage.
- Phase seals at 66%, 50% and 33% Health crack as you reach each checkpoint. Broken seals stay broken if the boss heals.
- Health responds immediately to hits, with a fading trail showing recent damage.
- Cleaner crystal details, better fill coverage and a more compact size leave more room for combat.
- The bar scales across Full HD, 1440p and 4K.
Inventory and Character Interface
- Redesigned the inventory and Character Details with fantasy-anime panels, clearer equipment slots, champagne borders and a portrait of your selected appearance. The center of the screen stays visible.
- Character Details are accessible by scrolling, with clearer Character Power and Gold displays, larger stat text and icons, and better slot placement.
- Panels and navigation fit Full HD, 1440p and 4K more consistently. The character portrait updates when you change your appearance.
- Item tooltips have clearer primary and secondary stat sections, readable long names, aligned values and distinct Unique and Mythic frames.
- Stats use matching colors and icons; Unique effects have their own gold-highlighted section. Equipment tooltips focus on bonuses rather than flavor descriptions.
- Unique and Mythic backgrounds and icon glows now appear consistently in inventory, equipment and Blacksmith slots.
- Green upgrade arrows are easier to see. Weaker items show a red arrow and the percentage of Character Power you would lose.
- Character Power and equipment comparisons use your first equipped Proc Skill, or your Main Skill if that slot is empty.
- Sort is manual. Choose type, Item Level, rarity or Character Power gain; your choice and item positions are saved, and new loot fills available slots.
- Escape closes Sort options before closing the inventory, stash or Blacksmith.
- The stash now matches the inventory, with five tabs and 500 storage slots, clearer controls and rarity effects.
- The PET tab has a companion portrait, clearer Auto Salvage options and a shortcut to pet appearances. Unique Auto Salvage is a separate option, disabled by default.
- Appearance selection has clearer illustrated cards, cosmetic categories and a portrait of your current look.
- Fixed invisible items blocking empty-looking inventory slots, missing empty cells after switching categories, incorrect drag targets and leftover key counts in Materials.
- Fixed incorrect or garbled symbols in menus and improved item-name readability across PCs.
Loot Effects and Notifications
- Unique and Mythic drops feature taller beams, glowing orbs, light ribbons and arrival effects: gold for Unique, violet-blue for Mythic.
- Unique and Mythic drops wait 5 seconds before character or pet pickup, giving you time to see their arrival.
- Collecting a Unique or Mythic displays an 8-second announcement with its icon and name. Crafting scrolls also have pickup announcements. Multiple finds are queued or grouped to keep the screen clear.
- Crafting scrolls and rare equipment have distinct magical sounds. Set their volume with Audio → Loot Drops.
- Ground nameplates have clearer rarity frames and more compact long names.
- Common item names hide when 11 or more Common items are on the ground and return at 10 or fewer. Uncommon items follow the same rule separately; the items can still be collected.
- With Auto Salvage active, checked equipment rarities show their ground bubble and effects without an item-name label. Changing the selected rarities updates loot already on the ground immediately.
Combat Display and Audio
- The new death recap shows damage taken over the last 5 seconds, recent hits and the final blow, including damage absorbed by Energy Shield or Mana.
- Damage numbers can combine each enemy's damage once per second, with up to 30 numbers on screen.
- Optional health-bar reduction clears crowded ordinary-monster bars while keeping Elite, boss, Treasure Goblin and Colossal bars visible.
- Health and Mana orbs have richer flowing liquid, moving reflections and clearer partly filled surfaces. Their full and empty states now display correctly.
- Skill-effect opacity controls respond more clearly at lower values, helping reduce visual clutter.
- DPS values below one billion no longer display decimals.
- Treasure Goblin's spawn voice follows the Voice / Dialogue volume setting.
Settings and Performance
- Settings feature clearer switches, thicker sliders, consistent key-binding controls and an indicator for unapplied changes. Apply saves your changes; Back discards unapplied changes.
- Graphics presets also configure crowded-combat options. Low favors performance, Medium balances effects and clarity, and High/Epic favor visual detail. Individual options remain adjustable.
- Smooth Crowd Animation is an experimental option that helps distant ordinary-monster groups on Low settings.
- Combat Impact Performance combines overlapping impact flashes on Low and Medium.
- Smooth Loot Pickup spreads automatic character and pet pickups over time and is enabled on every graphics preset.
- Dense Tornado Performance reduces the load of large tornado crowds on Low settings.
- Stationary Crowd Performance improves large groups of idle monsters and is enabled by every preset.
- Sky Lighting Mode offers Automatic, Map Default and Performance options. Automatic avoids costly fallback lighting on Low settings.
- Improved performance during crowded combat, large Goblin and Colossal reward bursts, pet pickups, Auto Salvage and Blacksmith use.
- Reduced autosave stutter in Infinite Farming. Progress saves after every 5 completed waves.
- Faster repeat loading reuses prepared game content; character appearances also load more smoothly in the background.
- New kitsune-and-Tower loading artwork keeps progress information easy to read.
- Fixed VSync re-enabling itself, incorrect FPS limits and inconsistent settings Apply, Cancel and Restore Defaults behavior.
- Graphics settings offer a shader-cache reset with confirmation and a recoverable backup. Resetting a damaged cache can make the next loading slower; it is not an FPS boost.
- Fixed repeated Bow attacks losing their animation, tornado effects ignoring partial opacity, danger markers appearing when tornado opacity starts at zero, lingering hidden effects and enemies leaving permanent corpses.
- Fixed shrine preview sizes and glowing shrine effects.
Launcher
- Removed the main-screen Sign in button from the launcher for a cleaner layout. Account sign-in is available when installing or updating the game.
- The launcher now includes update-progress, pause/resume, verification and repair screens, plus shared News and Patch Notes. The first downloadable Windows game release is still to come.
Website and Upcoming Online Features
The player website has a refreshed fantasy-anime design, with clearer account, download and support pages.
The next online update brings a shared in-game and website leaderboard:
- Rankings are ordered by highest completed Tower floor, with character class and level visible beside each entry.
- The in-game list displays up to 25 players per page, with scrolling, name search and class or league filters.
- Character inspection includes a portrait, 13 equipment slots, item bonuses and Unique effects, plus Build and Tree views.
- Returning from a profile keeps your place and filters. Stat colors, icons and large-number tooltips make builds easier to read.
- Locked profiles show class, level and highest cleared floor while keeping portraits, equipment and build details private. Inventory and stash contents are private.
- Profile locking is initially available to administrators and moderators.
Upcoming Armor and Evasion Uniques
Six additional Unique items are planned for a later loot update. They are not currently available as drops.
- Bastion of the Last Dawn — Chest: raises the maximum Armor Damage Reduction from 75% to 90%.
- Titanbound Gauntlets — Gloves: adds 1% of Armor as base Damage.
- Heart of the Iron Citadel — Amulet: gains 10% of Armor as base Maximum Health.
- Veil of the Silent Moon — Chest: raises the maximum Dodge Chance from 60% to 75%.
- Whisperwind Grasp — Gloves: adds 1% of Evasion as base Damage, with an increased Maximum Health bonus.
- Heart of the Nine Winds — Amulet: gains 10% of Evasion as base Energy Shield.
Each Armor piece grants 15 base Armor per character level; each Evasion piece grants 15 base Evasion per character level. Matching pieces stack together. Reaching the higher defensive caps still requires sufficient Armor or Evasion.
